A Hambidge fellow, Frenkel earned her MFA from Columbia University. She’s taught literature and writing from elementary school through college. Frenkel served as a writer-in-residence with InsideOut Literary Arts Project, which brings working poets into city schools. Her essay “Sharing Voices, Acting Crazy” appeared in their anthology \u003ci\u003eTo Light a Fire\u003c\/i\u003e. “Galway Kinnell and the Blue Button-Down” was in \u003ci\u003eThe Southampton Review\u003c\/i\u003e. “15 lessons from 9 years of teaching” was printed overseas in \u003ci\u003eWRITERS IN EDUCATION.\u003c\/i\u003e Frenkel edited the \u003ci\u003eDetroit Institute of Arts\u003c\/i\u003e magazine and co-authored \u003ci\u003e100 Essential Books for Jewish Readers\u003c\/i\u003e with Rabbi Daniel B.
